Is there an international millitary trade for cars?

International Trade

My husband and I are moving overseas to Japan for his naval job and wants to get a car there, but we aren’t sure if there is a credit through the military to trade our car in for a Japanese (Native, with the steering wheel on the opposite side) vehicle, or if we should sell if off on our own first then get a new car on our own when we get there.

Our car is brand new so it’s not fully paid off yet.

My wife and I just stored our car Stateside for the 3 years we were in Japan and paid a few hundred bucks for a compact Japanese car we bought from a departing servicemember.

The military will pay for the storage of your vehicle stateside.
